Standortinformationen
With more than 10,000 square kilometers, an area four times as large as Saarland, and with well over a million people, we are an upwardly mobile but not yet overcrowded region. From the gates of Hamburg in the north to the Volkswagen metropolis of Wolfsburg in the south, from the Aller river in the west up to the Elbe in the east there stretches the district of the Lüneburg-Wolfsburg Chamber for Commerce (IHK).
With the reunification of the two German states, the old border region at the edge of the European Economic Community has been moved into the centre of Europe. Routes to Scandinavia and the new EU countries in the east are short and offer as yet undreamt opportunities. In the immediate vicinity of large commercial centres but without their negative consequences like scarcity of land and environmental pollution, we still have plenty of room to offer industry and commerce with new future opportunities on german and internatinal markets.
About 55,000 companies, including 3,700 industrial enterprises and over 10,200 service providers close to their corporate customers have settled here by now. A neighbourhood that promises synergies, since the focus here is on cooperation, between companies as well as between government bodies.
